Never mind, scratch that question—he obviously has to be psychotic to give drugs to his own children!
dApparently, 37-year-old Seattle man Chad M. Holm and his ex-wife used meth together for several years before they finally split in April 2011. Since then, they've been fighting over access to their 5- and 7-year-old sons, who were placed with their dad while their mother underwent voluntary drug treatment.
Holms' actions were discovered when the children's mother failed a drug test, despite being clean for nearly a year in September. After hearing of the test results, the woman recalled a pair of unappetizing cookies she'd eaten with her children the day before that were baked by her ex-husband. Lab tests on the leftover frosting confirmed the presence of methamphetamine on the cookies. Upon further investigation, authorities discovered both children tested positive for the drug as well, all because they had ingested the treats too.
To make matters even worse, police also found that Holms had made the tainted cookies before forging a drug test to obscure his own meth use. Seriously?!
Prosecutors have charged Holm with second-degree perjury for the apparent forgery, but no one has been charged with the drugging of the young kids because authorities say they cannot prove whether Holm or his girlfriend spiked the cookies.
Can you believe that?! The fact that he's not getting charged is honestly just infuriating! Considering he's the one who baked the cookies and then was caught messing with his own drug test, I think it's pretty obvious that he was purposely drugging his own kids to make their mother look bad. Meanwhile, that poor woman is clearly trying to turn her life around for the sake of her children.
I'm just glad that the kids are OK and hope that they'll be left in the custody of their mother and kept far away from their deranged dad.
